即席のカレーパーティー

開けましておめでとうございます！

年末はナマケモノみたいに、こたつで座って、動かない状態になった。

ブログを書いたり、写真をアップロードしたり、なにもできずに〜


良くないと思った。どうしよう？


Happy New Year y'all.
At the end of 2011, I sat at the kotatsu (a heated floor table for the winter where everyone sticks their legs underneath---YES, there is such an invention) 24/7.
Blogging, uploading pictures, moving at all from my current position (poised, rice cracker in hand, mid-thought) was out of the question.


Not exactly a good state to be in.


What to do, though?
Of course!  A Curry Party.  

やっぱりカレーパーティー！

We called my friend, who happens to own a chai cafe in an old Japanese house, and asked, 'What about a curry party?'  to which he replied, 'Sure. What time?'
友達のカフェでケーララ「南インド」カレーを作りました。

チャパティも作りました。

My friend brought a traditional dessert (yokan) decorated especially for New Year's.
友達はこだわりようかんを持って来ました。

かわいいですね！

apple cranberry chutney, chapati, tangerines, bananas. . .
チャツネ、チャパティ、みかん、バナナ．．．

A fun time had by all, I think.  Aren't impromptu gatherings the best?

それはそれは楽しかった。即席のパーティーはいいね。
